Mahatma Gandhi was an extraordinary personality who emerged from the ordinary. ‘Satyache Prayog’ is his honestly written autobiography which reveals self-experience and self-reflection. He writes in his autobiography that Tolstoy’s ‘The Kingdom of God is within you’ and Ruskin’s ‘Unto this last’ influenced his thoughts.

In South Africa, in fact, he was exposed to the degrading treatment of black and white humanity, which gave rise to his humanitarian approach. Human beings should be treated as human beings, regardless of their nationality, caste or creed.

MAHATMA GANDHI’S IDIOLOGY’S INFLUENCE

Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology influenced the politics, sociology and literature of the time. From this, Gandhian ideology began to develop and Satyagraha and non-cooperation began to gain the power of ‘arms’. His views began to be taken nationally and internationally.

GANDHI’S OBJECTIVES IN EDUCATION

1)Creating Self Reliance:-

Education should create self-reliance in the place of the individual. Good education makes a person self-sufficient by providing employment opportunities. If education is self-sufficient, it can lead a person to self-sufficiency. 

2)To Cultivate Character:

The purpose of education is not just to acquire knowledge by combining information. On the basis of knowledge, character is an essential element of a person’s life and it should be achieved through education.

 (3) Creating religious tolerance through education

One should renounce narrow-mindedness in religion through education. One should learn to respect other religions and increase religious tolerance by acknowledging the existence and debt of God with a sincere heart. 

3) Establishing Hard Work:-

According to Gandhiji establishing hard work is the key to success in human life and it is a means of financial proper .

Mudliyar Or Value based Education

This scheme is known as Nai Talim or Wardha Shikshan Padhathi on 22nd and 23rd October 1937 in All India National Congress Conference. It is free compulsary primary education for boys and girls, educational method should be mother tongue ,Education should be imparted by productive industry.
But this scheme of Gandhiji didn’t work but principles should be adopted by Indian Education system such as In Mudliyar commission insist on handicraft, Kothari Commission suggests work experience and Ishwar Bhai Patel ‘s committee suggests inclusive of socially useful productive work in the curriculum and and kept an important part of the value education system. 

 Releavance with the present education System

Though the Melodyogi Education system failed in India but some of the factors are not negligible it forced and insist that education should be in mother tongue. 74 th years after Independence of India still there is no process of speaking English as well as very few  material has been translated in mother tongue so that every citizens of India should get benefit from it. Mahatma Gandhi’s views on women’s education are realistic, empirical, pragmatic and progressive.  India has made progress in Women’s education that is the plus point because of the view of this great leader. He also promote vocational education which is going to make realistic in new education policy by our beloved Prime Minister Mr . Narendra Modi.
